iNet leverages the Junpier SSR Platform as the foundation of our INPATH solution. The SSR’s (Smart Session Router) session-aware networking responds proactively to failures, enabled by the tunnel-free network architecture. Tunnel-based architectures have slower failover times because setting up a latent secondary tunnel takes time. For latency-sensitive traffic such as video conferencing, even a delay of a few seconds can seriously impact the user experience. To avoid this, tunnel-based architectures sometimes run a hot standby tunnel, which is expensive to maintain. With the SSR’s tunnel-free session smart networking, if the link SLAs are not being met, the routers will instantly migrate traffic to alternative paths.
